Scientific Name:	Calathea zebrina, Goeppertia zebrina

Description:	Calathea zebrina is a perennial ornamental foliage plant that grows well indoors or semi-shade outdoors. This variety has velvety patterned ovate leaves which are light green in color with darker green stripes, resembling zebra stripes.

Light:	Bright indirect sunlight, dappled light, semi-shade
Water:	Check regularly and water as needed. Keep the soil evenly moist; never allow it to dry out completely. Consider using a water filter when watering the plant. Alternatively, leave water out overnight before watering your plant to avoid brown patches or browning at the leaf tip.
Fertilizer:	Fertilize with diluted foliage fertilizer at least once a month to encourage growth.
Trimming:	Gently trim away dry, brown, or yellowish leaves by using a pair of secateurs. Trimming allows available nutrients in the soil to be transferred into the new leaves which encourage intentional growth. Also, trimming allows your plants to retain in a good shape and keep pests, fungal and diseases away.
